Sibley’s Toyland Now Open!

Come visit the historic Sibley’s Toyland open Monday – Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday – Sunday, 10am-2pm. Open now through January 31st.

Years ago Sibley’s Department Store, where the @merconmain resides today, was a destination for thousands of folks during the holiday season. It was an unmatched atmosphere in Downtown Rochester that drew families from all over Monroe County and beyond to experience the holidays at a whole new level. “Toyland” and “The Magic Corridor” are familiar to most Rochesterians and countless have fond memories of their experiences at Sibley’s during the holiday season. Toys, animatronic elves, Santa, and Mrs. Clause were just a few of the nostalgic characters in a floor wide display within Sibley’s.

@winncompanies @sibleysquare & @merconmain are proud to announce the restoration of these nostalgic animatronics and decorations that now fill Sibley Square once again!

"This former retail shopping space has been turned into a bustling food culture center! My parents tell stories of shopping here for clothes back in the 80s. Now, I am eating the most comforting spaghetti, pho, and BBQ. How neat is that? Ordinarily, the one meal I am not willing to travel over is spaghetti. Nobody makes the gravy better than my Nani. However, the aroma of ripe stewed tomatoes simmering for an eternity had me floating through the air like a cartoon. Intoxicating. The subtle distinct sweet smell of basil, oregano and thyme filled my nose. Liberating. Spaghetti is the ideal meal for heartaches, stress, and happiness."
